Interviews - Standards-based change
The ARI is, in effect, part of the standards-based reform movement:
It sets ambitious goals - every child will read
It urges frequent assessment to let teachers (and principals) know the strengths and weaknesses of every child
It encourages small-group instruction to make sure that teachers meet individual student needs
It provides hands-on knowledge on how to diagnose - and correct - reading deficiencies
