BPC Mission and Vision

BPC Mission
To raise the quality of teaching and school leadership to improve student achievement in Alabama.

BPC Goal
To increase the presence and availability of effective staff development in Alabama that improves student achievement in Alabama.

Areas of Work:

  1. Professional Development: Works directly with schools and school systems to provide them with information, knowledge and skills about good staff development.
  2. Resource Center: A place where schools, school systems, in-service centers and others can turn for information about effective programs and practices.
  3. Collaboration and Networking: A facilitator of collaboration among groups, programs, task forces and initiatives.
  4. Leadership Development: An advocate and developer of programs and information to improve school leadership.
  5. Contracted Services: A place where schools, school systems and others can turn to for specialized information and staff development.

  • Extend the work of the Teaching and Learning Clearinghouse
  • Answer a growing demand for information on professional development and best practices
  • Meet the need for greater consistency and quality in professional
    development
